For the first few weeks when you complete a homework I’d like you to sketch out the process you used to answer the question. The diagram should roughly:
- Identify the part of ArcGIS you used to answer the question (e.g. ArcMap, ArcCatalog, etc.)
- Identify the menu, tab, toolbox, and/or tool you used.
Often this will be an iterative process where you’ll start in one part of ArcGIS complete some operations and then move to another part of the application.
If the assignment is cartographic I’m less concerned with the order of operations and more concerned with understanding the logic of your design decisions. If you’re making a map I’d like you to list the layers you used and explain your choice of color, classification, and line weight.
